FAQS

  • Telehealth is the use of technology to provide long-distance health-related services. I provide Telehealth in a number of ways that increase accessibility to mental health care. I offer these sessions through HIPAA-Compliant video and by phone.

Why Would I Choose Telehealth Services?

In this new “normal,” Telehealth can be a great option for numerous reasons:

    ·       Safely receive therapy at home

    ·       Convenience and flexibility with scheduling

    ·       Can provide stability and accountability in this time of uncertainty

    ·       Available for the entire state of Tennessee and California

  • My role is to help you feel as comfortable as possible because I understand that therapy can feel awkward at first. Sharing your story with a stranger can be challenging, and I truly admire your courage and vulnerability in wanting to explore and process your thoughts and feelings.

    Initial Call:

Schedule a free phone consultation where we can get to know each other, and I can answer any questions you may have. If we decide we're a good fit, I’ll send you the intake paperwork and practice policies ahead of our first session.

    First Session:

Sessions are 50 minutes long. In our first session, we’ll review the intake paperwork, discuss any concerns or hesitations, and I’ll likely ask more about your background, family dynamics, current issues, and counseling goals to get a complete picture of your needs.

    Follow Up Sessions:

To build rapport, trust, and stability, I recommend meeting weekly or bi-weekly at the start of the counseling process.

Each person’s path in therapy is unique, so the duration and frequency of sessions will be tailored to your pace and needs. As we progress, we’ll regularly check in on how you're feeling and adjust goals as necessary. For some, therapy may be a longer journey, while others may find that they can space out sessions as they develop new skills, coping strategies, and awareness. Ultimately, my goal is to help you feel more confident and self-sufficient overall.

  • Each session is $175. I do offer some reduced fee spots, but they are currently full.

I do not take insurance, but I can provide paperwork (known in the therapy world as a “superbill”) for you to submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network benefits. I encourage you to call your insurance to find what those benefits are.

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

    ·       You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

    ·       Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item.

    ·       You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

    ·       If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

    ·       Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 368-1019.

There’s only one of you in this world, and you are needed just as you are.
